This is really an easy recipe. A simple good food beef dish marinated in kalamansi and soy sauce. Bistek is one of  the Filipino recipes that everyone will surely love. Bistek is known to be our version for Beef Steak. The simplicity of this good food dish is what it makes lovable by all Filipinos here and abroad. You just have to make sure that the beef is tender and everything will follow. Better try cooking this good food recipe at home. Easy recipe for cooking are as follows:

Serves 3-4  Prep Time 15 minutes  Cooking Time 20 minutes + marinating time

Ingredients

1/2 kilo beef (terderloin, sirloin, or round), sliced thinly or about 1/4 inch - use a tenderizer to soften the beef
5 tbsp kalamansi juice
1-2 medium size potato, cut into cubes or quarted
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup water
2 tsp minced garlic
2 large onions, cut into rings
2 tbsp of cooking oil
1 tbsp ground pepper

How To Cook

Mix kalamansi juice and soy sauce in a bowl. And the add beef, garlic and ground pepper. Mix well. Marinade for 15 minutes.

(As a fan suggested: You may also try boiling the beef in evaporated milk before marinating it in kalamansi juice and soy sauce - Thanks to Ms. Meriam Arellano)

Add oil in a pan and lightly fry onion rings. Remove from the pan, drain on paper towels and separate. Keep it warm.

Do the same with the potatoes.

Pour the marinade into the pan and boil for 1-2 minutes. Put the beef slices and simmer for 5 minutes. Make sure the beef is tender.

Put in a plate and place the onion rings and potatoes on top.

Serve at once.

  17. If I were to cook this dish, I'll marinate it for about an hour because I want it to be soft and tender plus the sauce will really sink in the meat.beef jerky australia
